MCCA Fundraiser Teams
Join our core team of advocates assisting with patient outreach, facilitating local support networks, and coordinating community fundraising initiatives.

You don’t need special skills to join or start a fundraising team. A desire to help people affected by cancer is all it takes.

We welcome new fundraising teams! Bring together your friends, family, coworkers, or neighbors to support MCCA.

Educational Grant Program
MCCA offers an educational program that provides funds to anyone seeking advanced education after graduating from high school. To receive the grant funds, individuals must volunteer for 50 hours per year. The grant amount in 2025/2026 is $1,000 per year. The maximum is 4 years.
Requirements:

Grants can be used at any accredited post-high school educational institution, including trade schools

Applicants must re-apply and qualify annually

Applicants must show proof of enrollment before grant funds are disbursed

Applicants must be 14 years or older and a current resident of Montgomery County, Illinois

Event Support
Help bring our community together through MCCA’s annual events, including our Celebration of Life, which honors Montgomery County’s cancer survivors and remembers those who have died from cancer, or our Walk for a Cure event. Along with fundraisers held throughout the year, these gatherings give neighbors a meaningful way to connect, encourage one another, and support MCCA’s work.
Volunteers help make these events welcoming and organized from start to finish. Depending on the event, you may assist with setting up tables and decorations, greeting guests, providing directions, supporting activities, or cleaning up afterward. If you prefer working behind the scenes, you can ask about opportunities to help with preparations before the event begins.
You don’t need previous event experience to get involved. If you can offer a few hours or would like to volunteer throughout the year, we welcome your interest. Contact MCCA to learn about our upcoming events.
MCCA Research Program
MCCA’s mission is to raise funds for cancer research. Research is vital to finding a cure for this disease, and citizens of Montgomery County, Illinois, are an integral part of reaching this goal.
In 2025, MCCA donated to 3 local hospitals and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. 2026 donations are pending, so please contact any board member with your request/recommendation.
Projects:

MCCA-led groups will ask citizens of Montgomery County to continue their support by making yearly donations.

The MCCA annual “Celebration of Life” gala will be held in honor of our county’s survivors and those who have lost their battle to cancer.
